Watsup everyone. My names Jantus, I live in South Africa. I breed lizards for a hobby.
My collection includes 1 iguana, 3 tokay gecko's, 10 leopard gecko's (1 super hypo tangerine carrot-tail baldy, 2 patternless, 1 banana blizzard and 6 wild type). Great looking forum and awesome site!!! |

Hi there, welcome to the forum.
I'm amazed, your list doesn't include any native reptiles, are you not allowed to keep those? |

Oh, O.K. Sorry about that! I just woke up so not thinking clearly yet. Yes we are allowed to keep indigenous reptiles but for most of them you need a permit. There are a few that you dont need permits for like the giant ground gecko, gorongoza girdled lizzard etc. I would like to get myself some bibrons gecko's later on (they require a permit). |

And you need a permit for most dwarf chameleons aswell. I had some dwarf chameleons (cape dwarf) but they are extremely difficult to keep and they died. Not sure of what??? I kept them in exactly the same type of setup as the breeder I got them from. They were looking happy and healthy and the next morning I woke up and the one was hanging from the branch. The other one soon followed. Everythin was perfect in their enclosures, the temp, humidity, enough water, natural setup with life plants, a little waterfall, UVB lighting...Dont know why... |
