Hi,
Well one of my royals was just about to shed, so i put some moist moss in it's hide, for about a day or two, then took it out as it had shed, well basically i have noticed its belly went a little pink the other day, so kept an eye on it, now it has started to go, quite bad Sad
Is there anything i can do, or shall i take it to the vet, what i mean basically is there anything i can do in the mean time Question

Vets is good, scale rot can be treated quite well with dilluted hibiscrub or tamodine being applied to the area three times a day and changing the viv at each clean and keeping on just newspaper or kitchen towel so it's sterile and keep water fresh too. Pete aka goldenburm would be a good person to talk to about it as he had a royal that had horrible burns etc on her belly thats come up lovely!

No offence but scale rot doesn't appear from a couple of days in a moist hide..it is usualy after prolonged exposure to very damp or soiled conditions, hence why It would be good to see a pic of its belly..what sort of heating do you use?..if a heat mat is used is it controlled by a stat?.

Yes, please delete it until you figure out how to resize it, you could always ask how to resize in the off topic section, sure someone knows.

As for this comment, i don't know how else to put it really, but are you saying i am lying, as the moss was in there for 2 days maximum, as the snake had then shed, so i took it out, then i noticed it was still pink, kept an eye on it, got worse phoned vet etc

Thanks to those of you who helped, i did book her an appointment, but came home from work today to sadly find her dead Crying or Very sad
It was obviously to much for her Crying or Very sad
R.I.P Sad

No but without pictures its very hard to say, hence why I asked for a photo.I'm really sorry you lost the snake but scale rot doesn't kill a snake in two days so I'm guessing that the problem was there long before. Confused You say you didn't like to handle her could it have had something wrong for some time and its only recently that you have noticed?
