Yipeeeeeeeeeee, I have been after some pill bugs for ages, saw some in Hamm and never bought them not sure why I didnt. Probably Thu heat and feeling flustered, and fed up with being shoved and the guy would not budge on his price
Regretted not getting them.
At today's Kempton show who was there but German Pill Bug trader man! hehehehhehe
So I bought some; they are superb, he thinks they are a malaysian species, anyone care to identify please? They don't look real, orange / yellow/ blue/ and cream and highly glossed shiny shell! When they curl up into a defensive ball they look like giant marbles!
Some pics of them: _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

WOW These are impressive Rick, they look like humbugs. I really must look into increasing my milli's as they really are nice things to keep.

I think these pill bugs are the dogs toenails!
I got four more from another trader, not quite as exotic but just as unusual and beautiful. Anyone identify these ones to please? _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Thanks they get as big as the one in the pic that is on my hand, quite small and giant marble size! Have been after them for ages! _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

I think the first are a Glomeris sp. you may find they will slowly starve to death, they never seem to live long, the second appear to be Globotherium sp. And the same applies to these, I have been told that they do not like high temps and rotten woods are necessary, Good luck with them, |
