I'm planning a couple of new banks of vivs. I haven't decided on the overall height as yet - anyone got any comments?I was thinking of having five x 18" high vivs, making 90" total. Does anybody have anything similar - is it a pain in the a$$ working with the top viv at that height?

Mark.

I don't think enough people consider the width of a viv,I think long narrow vivs look crap and don't do alot for the animals feelings of security.

The vivs will be 120cm long and either 50 or 60cm deep, giving dimensions of 120 x 45 high x 50 or 120 x 45 x 60cm. They are for blue tongues.

I was just wondering if anyone with tall banks of vivs had any observations, you know "If I built them again I'd....".

Cheers,
Mark.

I used to have 5 vivs high, each 15" tall. The top and the bottom were a pain, the bottom being the worst as I had to really climb in.

Also, it's the depth that is the biggest pain, especially the high ones. My current vivs are all 30" deep and 18" high, I need a stall to access the back of the top bank but the rest are fine.

If I were to rebuild my vivs again, I would make them slightly lower, probably 15" (brings the basking area down a bit) and make them not quite as wide but I would stick with the 30" deep.
