Just curious on how long you guys/girls spend looking after your reptiles each day?
I've just feed all my lizards and it took about 30 minutes (including removing some rats that had not been eaten. _________________

I forgot to say that's just the monitors and cresteds, feeding with dusted crickets (about 5000 )
When I feed CGD to the cresties it takes a lot longer.
Tommorow is snake feeding night, 150 young royals to feed (plus all the adults)....shouldn't take long _________________

I was always told "if you're gonna do a job, do it properly" Although I must admit I think I may of exagerated a little, I think there's only 140 in total (plus the adults ) _________________

It varies from day to day for me. My dart frogs for instance at one end of the scale get fed everyday. The bigger pythons et the other end of the scale get fed more like once a month. Then there is a whole lot of stuff inbetween the two extremes so at best on certain day`s perhaps half an hour. On other occassions though I may spend the whole day feeding everything.
I tend to feed my pythons at night, quite often in the dead of night so I sometimes do really spend virtually an entire day doing so. I take my time about it though as a) I like to see everything is feeding ok, and b) I enjoy observing the behaviours.
For example it may take me ten minutes to feed all the darts if I just feed the lot of them in one go one tank after the other, or I may feed one group and then stop to watch them feeding (never get tired of that) and do the same with each group so that it may take me a good hour or more.
Feeding the bats takes longer than it should as I can never resist munching on it myself! Lovely _________________ YSBRYDOLI POBL, GWELLA LLEOEDD

I usually spend around 30 mins to 1 hr in the Frogroom feeding, spraying, checking the vivs for tads and doing a quick head count, but I spend a fair while each day watching my D. azureus in the living room as they are conveniently placed to keep an eye on |

My collection is tiny compared to most so not long 10-15 minutes at most, spraying/spot cleaning/health checks etc. depends.
Scott what I'm curious about is how you keep track of all your animals, feeding records and all that, it must take alot of work. You ever feel like you just wanna sit back and not have to worry about them? sounds bad...but even with love for the animals it can prolly be a handful sometimes |
