Are Gila monsters classed as Dangerous Wild Animals (DWA)? If so do you need a license to keep them?

Shocked Can I ask what's the point in keeping venomous animals???... I would never keep venomous reps cause I love holding my snakes and I would hate to always have a hook and be alert all the time handling them... This is to all people that keep venomous pets..

For their beauty, to me they are just the same as my other reptiles. I don't handle many of my animals anyway (would take too long!) But I do have time to appreciate them and watch their behaviour etc.

Think of keeping venomous reptiles like keeping fish, you can't handle them, you have to secure them in something else while cleaning their tank but they are great to watch

yep, DWA. Their venom is comparable to western diamondback rattlers.

WOW superb looking animals... great photos too... Very Happy

Are Gilas docile? I know you wouldn't handle one like you would a Beardie, but just wondered what their temperament was like.

as babies they hiss and snap madly, but as adults they calm right down and are even ok to handle (carefully!)
