Thy are almost all wild caught, they grow BIG and they eat a TON! hahaha!

Most of the Albigs you see for sale in the UK are black throats, they range in price from £150 - £350 (the most expensive being CB cape banded white throats)

They are all the same under the skin, they just vary in size and pattern depending on locality. They range in size from 4.5'-6'+, so require huge enclosures (10x5 min IMO) For this reason they are not the best choice for everyone.

FOOD: This will be a very important thing if you decide to get one as they will eat you out of house and home! lol! My two are currently around 4' and 3.5' and will eat 6-8 chicks 4-6 rats or mice and 12-18 adult locust in a single sitting! AND THEY SHOULD BE FED AT LEAST EVERY OTHER DAY!
Remember mine are still young and growing so never underfeed them as they are still growing.

Being native to Africa they like it HOT. Cool side around 75-78f warm side 80-85f and a basking spot anywhere between 140-180f (SURFACE TEMP!)

They usually don't like to soak but you should always provide a water dish large enough for them too, just in case.

For substrate i use a sand and soil mix (Higher percentage soil 80-20 mix) about a foot deep. It keeps the humidity bang on and they LOVE to burrow.

Hope this helps

Rick

Almost forgot, here are a few (old) pics of my guys.

i have just got one, he was found in a wooden box in a house that had been empty for 6 weeks, he was very lethargic and basically on the brink of death. That was about a month ago now and he is doing really well. A friend of mine has had him for the past month but hasn't got the room to keep him permanently so he has come to mine now that he is doing better. I have had bosc before in the past but have never seen a white throat or black throat so thought i would post on here and get a bit of info. Will sort a pic out as soon as poss so you can see him
