Is it advisable to feed when a royal starts to shed as in eyes go milky and the skin dulls?....if not what could happen?....someone asked me but I'm not sure. |

Personally I don't feed if I spot the "milky stage" until they have shed..as long as the snake is healthy and of good weight it won't hurt.On the odd occasion where I have missed the milky stage and fed them it has always led to an imcomplete shed and have always had to soak them to get it off..I know others that feed through the sloughing period with no probs but this is just my own experiences.. _________________

Untill I starting useing avipro one of my females fed mainly during shed cycle. I am guessing it was because she either felt secure with cloudy eyes or felt threatened so ate out that came near.
Generally though unless I miss the signs I dont feed during shed, apart from if I have a rat no one else wants, then why not, better than wasting it.
thanks
