hi all im going to get my corn snake today and was wondering if its best to get a mat stat or just keep my eye on temps using a digital thermometer ??? thanks

Definitely get a stat..I prefer pulse stats.

Stat, definately. Another Summer like the last and your snake will cook otherwise. I turned all my heating off this year on quite a few occassions even for the Tropical species.

there basic stasts so i would go for the microclimate personally
although the habistat has a better controller .ie knob to turn up and down
