Ok, so why is it when you get a "call center" ring you they barely speak english and yet have "english" names, like Bob or Dave?

I had a guy ring me earlier named Jim who could barely speak english and couldn't understand me if i spoke faster than as if i was doing an impression of myself at a table at Hamm???

Don't get me wrong, i'm all for companies making money and other countries having raised employment etc etc etc - BUT - i think it takes the biscuit some what when someone rings you but then you have to explain what he is offering!!

BTW, no i didnt want the loan and i couldn't get any info out of him about what herps he has in his country

lol....yep I know exactly what you mean. I have all international calls barred from my phone because of these calls, infact I have barred ALL calls from the phone (ripped it out the wall due to 99% of calls being junk!).

When I did previously answer, I would keep them on for as long as possible, most often I would keep saying "pardon, can you say that again" and then I would pretend to understand that I had won a car or free holiday. I wouldn't talk to them either unless they told me which country they were calling from, most were very reluctant to say (most were from India).

LOL i usually say can you hold a mo as im on the other phone
they get the message after i put the phone down on the tv speakers and turn the tv up a LOT

We were plagued by these type of calls untill we signed up to that free service which screens them out.I have been asked if I want all the usual double glazing, insurance etc etc. When they really got to be a pain and the phone went at 10pm asking for my partner I told them how i wish theyd rang 2 days ago as he died last night- total lies of course but it shut the guy up at least.I also used to tell them I dont have time to discuss buying a new conservatory BUT I always have time to discuss Jesus!. Also telling them you cant talk right now but asking them for their home number usually gets rid of them! Thank God that free service works as the "can i speak to the bill player please" type of calls in very bad English were a real pain in the butt.

I am ex-directory now, but when I used to get such calls just would not let them utter more than three words and just said bye got to sacrifice a goat now and put phone down.
