This poor chap is having to stay in captivity an extra night (although he gets the pleasant experience of being clutched by my wife ).
He was found in someones chimney last week after being in there for three days He was very weak and close to not making it but with a bit of TLC he is ready to go and join his family again.
Went to try and release him today, but there was no sign of his relatives in the area so will have to try again tomorrow |

They always look like that, stern little things.
My favourite owl species though.
The pip is fine, grouchy as ever |

Well, he is now back at his home site and we are doing a mobile aviary release. He will stay in the aviary for a few days to re-acclimatise and then the top will be opened and he will be free to leave.
Food will still be provided until none has been taken for 5 days, after which we will assume that he is not coming back |
