First thing this morning, hubby spotted an egg in the moorish gecko (Tarentola mauritanica)
viv Shocked was not expecting that at all, because they're so hard to sex, didn't even know what sex they were, so I guess we got a pair!! Laughing

They're was only one egg though, is this normal? hunted to see if there was another but nope. The egg looked good though but will have to wait and see.

I just was after some info from peeps that have bred these before, what medium did you use for incubation? dry sand or dry vermiculite? did you provide any humidity at all? water bowl in the incubator say?

I have it set at about 82f atm, will check again later when it's been running a while to see what temps are staying at, like I said, wasn't expecting this, so incubator was not ready

Any info welcome Question

well done on the find, first clutches often only have one egg. Set it up on dry sand, then towards the end of incubation you could put a small deli cup in there with damp tissue just to increase the humidity in the air (not vital but helps once it hatches, just make sure the substrate stays dry).

good luck.

Cheers guys, the egg is on sand now, it's pink sand though, that wont hurt wil it?

Just feels odd having an incubator set up for one egg lol Laughing
