I can't seem to get my head around what is needed in the crested gecko's diet (vits and all that), can someone help me out? Pleeeaaassseee!!!
I know it depends on whether u want to feed them crix, or just fruit/babyfood or CGD....sooo.....
I would prefer to give them the fruit/babyfood diet without crix, but maybe with CGD mixed in.... but not an exclusively CGD diet.
Do I need to add calcium, multi-vits, D3 or any other supplements to this??
If I did choose to feed crix every now and then, would they need any of this extra stuff?
Please help!
Thanks _________________

can i ask why you don't want to just feed them the CGD? Its formulated to meet there exact requirements without feeder insects. _________________ Kat |

Basically as Kat said above, the CGD is a total food formula, so NO other supplements are needed.
Baby food is more of a 'pudding' for them, they can easily become hooked on it and it's too fatty and sweet for them to be maintained on.
I use CGD 3 - 4 times a week, I do mix in a tiny amount of baby food (perhaps 5%) but don't add anything else.
Crickets are used also during the week, I dust these every other feed with Nutrabol.
Why are you against using the CGD exclusively? _________________

Hey, thanks for the replies
I'm open to suggestions 'bout diet, coz I don't have a crestie yet and when I get one I obviously want to feed it the right stuff!
I thought I would try to give a more natural diet, mainly consisting of mashed fruit and with a bit of babyfood thrown in and the odd cricket now and then.. for variety really aswell...
I figured I would add some CGD to the fruit/babyfood to give it extra nutrients too..
I'm not against using CGD exclusively as such, just thought variety was the spice of life!
I'm only goin' by what I've read on various forums, caresheets etc..
So does that sound good or bad diet that I've suggested? If bad, please tell me how to fix it!

Is that the same case for fruit aswell?
