I have had a few crested eggs that developed full term, sweated but then failed to hatch. When slit open the young were dead but fully developed.

I have come to the conclusion that the eggs are too tough (over calcified?) and this is stopping the young from hatching out. I have cut 4 eggs so far once they start sweating and babies have then climbed out thru the slits within a couple of days.

I have now changed the diet, with slightly less calcium intake, hopefully this will solve the problem.
