First of all please dont think this is as stuoid as it sounds,I know that male chameleons shouldn't be placed where they can see each other BUT does this only apply to that species? What I mean is can a male yemens viv be positioned so he would be able to see a male panther? or would this cause stress also?

Hi Jan , yes it would cause stress. Even the sight of another lizard, snake, or whatever can cause them stress. Ditto female chams to. They will either see the other animal as a potential predator or an invader into their territory. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Thanks Rick I thought this might be the case, I have designed the rep room so the chams cant see each other but the thought did occur to me.I will stay with my side by side system- the solid sided vivs that is.Thanks for clearing that one up!

I've had a male panther with yemens either side, never had any issues. My male yemens could always see each other but only through the mesh of their cages and the female cage that seperated them. I think good thick foilage is important though, they must have a place to retreat to and hide etc.
They could also see across the room at the monitors and bearded dragons. The only animals that really showed any interest in other cages were the beardeds and monitors, they could see the chams getting fed and got excited knowing it was their turn next. _________________
