Nice pics, they are beautiful. How big do they get and aren't they very hard to tame? |

hehe yes pt, nice swenglish BTW;)
spindlehead: the tristis will grow to about 60-80 cm, and the gilleni to 30-40cm.
if they are hard to tame? i wouldn't know i never try to force handle my reptiles to "tame" them.
they don't like to be picked up so i don't, unless i have to. |

I didn't necesarily mean to force them to tame, I had always heard that they are very aggressive lizards, I just wondered if you found that to be the case or if they are more docile.  |

no they aren't aggressive,sometimes flighty if they get scared but most of the time they never mind my presence. |

no but i have seen mating behavior.at least the male is ready but the female always escapes him,however its been a while since his last attempt. |

very nice Patrik, not the easiest monitors to photograph...mine look great until I get the door open then there is nothing to photograph!!!  _________________

thank you Scott, are your tristis very shy? mine are surprisingly calm when I'm cleaning, changing water etc, i can come very close to them and the only reaction is tongue flicking, all though to sudden movements can make them a little flighty. |
