Yes thanks, it does.

Right now the next question is a serious one, no BS or messing about here......

Looking at those photo's if he belonged to someone else and was from no-one in particular (maybe even WC) would you still class him as a high gold?

From my own point of view i can honestly say i wouldn't and i promise you that is NOT anything to do with the fact it's yours. Yes i'd go with him being lighter but i honestly think the label "high gold" is stretching it somewhat, especially considering what he used to look like. You can see on the close ups he is either on his way out of a bright phase or on his way in - it is only through the plethera of pictures i know it is the former. This leads me onto my next question, we all know snakes change as they mature but is it common for this sort of thing with the "high golds"?

Again i would like to stress this is NOT me being a smart ass it is a genuine series of questions based on honesty.

Hiya High golds I am told as they age do dull down, he is 3 years old now and is still bright compared to other peoples high golds.

As to whether I would class him as a high gold then yes I would, I got him off one of the UK's most respected Royal Breeder as a high gold as it was one of his keepers but I persuaded him to part with it. He is much much better in person, I was going to take it to the Barking show for Scott and Wendy to look at and give their opinion. He was in deep shed so was not travelling. My Phoenix is as light as him but he is a much brighter yellow colour than tans etc. Eric Davies of the Black eyed Lucy fame said he was a high gold and also said he would bet that he will end up as an IMG ( not who I got him from!)

I have no probs with questions mate, never have and never shy from em! I have seen many many people who say they have a high gold and I am biased but not one I have seen in the flesh is as yellowy brass as he is! A lot of him has dulled down but he still is most def a high gold!

Hiya as I have posted this on a few other forums I have written this mail on there, not to catch you out dan, as to whether I do see in gold tinted glasses or not, hope that makes sense!

Wendy and other royal breeders would you class him as a high gold? I have been asked as if I would class him as one as they consider him a light normal. Its a fair question and I am not after folk flaming the other person etc, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I respect that. I am just curious is it me wearing gold tinted glasses or not lol!

Also about 18 months ago I contacted Ralph Davis if he classed it as a high gold and he said most definitately and I was to breed him to another high gold for sure! He has dulled down a bit but as I said before I believe all high golds do!?!? I maybe wrong but thats what I am led to believe!

Thanks for the replies, i figured as much about them all as a rule dulling down some what - purely because so many animals do that.

I'm curious to see what others will say, although i confess i am expecting no suprises. Have you posted this on somewhere like constrictors.com? I only ask as there will be no clique mentality there

Dan I have asked on RDR, Ball pythons.net, Clays Red tail Boa site, Livefood, Reptile fan club and constrictors.com link is here

http://constrictors.com/forums/showthread.php?p=82728#post82728

is that a broad enough spectrum to evaluate from?
