Bit of advice needed please.
Cham eggs / incubation methodology.
I have some eggs in trays the trays are covered within the incubator, with small holes for airflow.
I have other cham eggs in poly box home made incubators in trays with no cover over the trays, should I cover the trays? The polly box lids are on .
Should I place a small bowl of water in the bottom of the incubator to help with humidity?
I check the vermiculite regularly and use an eye dropper to gently add a few drops of water.
Thanks. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

no need to lid them if you can keep a stable temp and adequate humidity
As for adding bowls of water, again only if the air is very dry, try and judge it from the eggs, how do they look? _________________

Thanks Scott, The majority of the eggs look fine apart from some that went bad within the first few weeks. So far I have not used the bowls of water and 50% of the eggs are without lids. I shall carry on as per normal then cheers. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk
