Hi,
I'm Richard, English, living in Germany, and very happy to have founf this forum.
I am building a 6' vivarium at the moment, intending to fill it with a snake, but I cannot decide. I want to decorate tomimic the environment, and observe some behaviour.
First choice was a BP, but I'd like something quite active to be able to watch the behaviour. So I thought of a Carpet Python, but they get a little big.
Then a corn seemed a good idea, but when I was browsing in a shop last Saturday, the kingsnakes also seemed nice and active, so they were added to the list.
And to add to the confusion, the hognoses caught my attention also.
Arrghhh.
If anyone has a preference, please say !

Hi Richard, welcome. You near any of the world cup venues?
As for snakes? The colubrids (kings, rats and hognoses) are more active than the boids. I like the hognoses but you have far more choice with the rat snakes....basically go with what you like the most.
regards

Lol. We'll see. I keep having fantasies about a dwarf retic - the Hamm show in September could be dangerous .
Thank you for the replies.
