I believe that most if not all of the Odatria are sociable to the extent of pairing off from a young age, other larger monitors don't tend to do this as much as the oditria in my opinion, when seeing them in the wild almost every ackie was paired up, this could have been just because the area suited what they needed at that time best but I felt they were all breeding pairs and had specifically paired of, the larger monitors such as varius and gouldi were all seen solely but this could have more to do with there scavenging habits. This leads to captivity and what you want from ur monitor, if that is to have one as a "pet" then by all means one will not be "lonely" but if you would like to breed them eventually and see a wider range of behavior i would suggest getting 2 babies and growing them up together, do not try and buy one then at a latter stage introduce another as this almost never works. so its up to you at the end of the day to decide what u want _________________ Keeper various varanus inc gillini, tristis, glauerti, acanthrus, ornatus,
