I would recommend frontline Mark.I have only ever had mites once before and this is what I used..Lots of other people who will probably be able to give you more advice but have a search on here and read up as much as you can.You will have to repeat any treatment you do now in a couple of weeks time as some things don't kill the eggs they lay.

hi
if you read the stuff i put in in Boas & Pythons mites, originally by emma fyfe you will not go wrong. Provent a mite fron glen chandler of jungle phase is brilliant. Use diemite from vivbuilder.co.uk to get them off the snake and Provent a mite to keep them that way. It has worked 100% for me, if you have NERDS the complete ball python, provent a mite is mentioned in there.
hope this helps, when i first had them I panicked, but provent a mite is really that good. just follow instructions perfectly. Also with provent a mite you dont need to spend hours scrubbing and throwing away all your hides logs etc. etc. Any new snakes etc you get, before they come into your home you can use diemite on them.
cheers
mike

just a couple tips i heard from the grape vine. if you put a small amount of baby oil on a towel and run it down the snake it will take all the mites off. and also when you buy substate for snakes/lizards put it in the freezer for a couple hours this will kill off any mites. i must add ive never tried either of these as i havent had a need to but i believe they do work. and lizards can gte mites but im not to sure if they are the same as snake ones

I don't use any chemical, instead I just put the snake in a tub to soak for a few days.

If it looks like it my be in many cages then I would use frontline but it's never got to that stage yet.

There is so much that can be done if people just understand the animal they are having problems with.

Just about every time people post about mites i put up the following link. I suggest EVERY member reads it, thoroughly Exclamation

http://www.vpi.com/9VPITipsAndTechs/TheWarAgainstSnakeMites/TheWarAgainstSnakeMites.htm

There's a lot to read but WELL worth it, bother your arse and know your foe Wink
