im not happy today my leo gecko bit me today (not very hard but still) i was also quite suprised at him as there normaly really chille dand yesterday i held him for 40 mins without him trying to run off so i assumed i tamed him.unfortantly i was handeling him today and was trying to be gentle and just stroke his head... i decided to put him back after 5 mins as he was a bit agressive. i gently (and i mean gently) pulled him off my shirt. as i was despratly trying to open the viv he turned his head round an bit me (it felt like his claws when he cluches on 2 me) on the finger.all i was doing was dropping him in his viv again (from about 1cm from his fav hide) normally hes fine to be picked up by me (dosent like my bros sticky fingers so just me he likes to be handled by) i read they wont bitee unless severy prevoked so now i feel guilty for probaly hurting him. |

In my experience, not many reptiles like having the top of their heads stroked - they can't see you properly, so you might be something that's going to try to eat them. My leos don't mind having their chins and the sides of their jaws stroked, because they can see what's going on, but it's more that they 'don't object' than that they like it.

Not always true. A gecko doesn't have to be -severely- provoked to bite, just frightened, hurt or hungry enough to bite. I've gotten nipped once or twice by mine, and the worst bite was when I wasn't actually handling the biter - I was picking up his 'girlfriend'! _________________ - Ssthisto
