I've never really noticed veins in my eggs but saying that I have never looked , At 5 weeks if they are still a nice white colour and filled out they are still fertile _________________

So if a batch of non fertilised eggs were laid how would one tell that they were non fertile? _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

seriously though, if they are infertile, they will slowly turn a yellow colour and deteriorate over time before going mouldy. This normally happens within the first few weeks. _________________

There is a good reason for me asking about non-fertile eggs. About two months ago I was offered a female yemen with complete set up for a bargain price.
She has been in with the male yemen but I have not noticed any mating activity, but now she is as big as a house and is ready to deposit her eggs. My gut feeling is that the eggs are non-fertile. Shall wait and see. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk
