Just a thought, and a way to alleviate any spamming for votes etc. But why not do away with the voting altogether and see if 3-5 judges invited from totally independent forums, say a photography forum, a knitting forum, a juggling forum, an artyfarty type forum, and a teacher from a school with a website, who could then involve a class load of kids to vote for the schools fave pic. This way all bases get covered, it's not just about technical merit, how many friends you can cajole into joining up and voting for you (See members list for how many have joined in last couple of days), it's down to peoples favourite picture and nothing more.
Sorry just my two penneth worth and something to think over maybe. |

lol........yeah there was a strange hive of activity on the new members front
We will certainly look at different ideas for new competitions and ALL sugestions are more than welcome.
I think the next comp may well be an ID quiz again.....watch this space _________________

Yey I like the ID quizzes - mainly because I leanr about different species when trying to find the answers...lol.
To be honest I find it disappointing when people canvas for votes. At the end of the day it was supposed to be a fun competition where members (i.e. people who contribute to the forum and haven't just joined because there is a prize on offer) can show off their animals. It's always the minority who spoil it for the majority. _________________ Best wishes, Jackie

Neither can I. I did realy well with my pic I scored one vote ROFLMAO HEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHE.
I agree the voting system this time round could have worked better. It was I suppose open to abuse. No offence but the prize is not like a trip round the world or anything. As I keep saying it should all be about fun!

How about the picture with the least votes wins!
That would feck it up.

That wouldn't solve the problem of people getting friends etc to vote for them though. _________________

You could just limit the voters/entrants to people who are contributors to the site in much the same way you do with the advertising.
You guys as moderators/admin have the ability to see who has voted where and edit if needed so you could easily do this.
