What setting is the camera on?...and what f number are you using?...for depth of field set the camera to "A" on the mode dial and play around with the f stops.. |

unless I was doing something wrong, I had f stops from 5.6 up to 30! |

i can get a good depth of field but then the shutter speed slows right down.
don't remember your camera sounding as slow with the shutter? |

try it on f22 with a exposure compensation of 1.3...not familiar with the canon so dont know the layout.. |

lol.....well, that slowed the shutter speed to 3 secs plus even with a flash. |
