Hi folks, I can see a few of you keep these, so can you tell me please are they able to be handled? What's their temperament like? I've read a few care sheets but nothing tells me their general personality.

Thanks.

Kaida

All the ones I've ever dealt with have not been handable. To give a clue their one of their other common names is the Barking Gecko, when ever they were touched they nearlly always let out a little 'bark' and weren't afraid to bite. I would say they definately weren't a pet in the sense of a leopard gecko but do make nice display animals when they come out. I may be biased because they always managed to bite me Rolling Eyes

i treat mine as display animals but when i do need to handle them they seem fairly tolerant. one of my males nearly always barks when first disturbed but has never attempted to bite

Same here. Mine will always tolerate mild handling, but if you do start to get a bit rough with them, they WILL let you know! Laughing
