Well to be honest for that money I would get either a canon 350D or a nikon D70/s..both fantastic cameras and slr's so you can expand with dedicated lenses such as a decent macro for close up shots. _________________

Or even a Nikon D50, a fair bit cheaper than the D70. |

What camera are you currently using? because the pics that you linked are stunning anyway!!
I use a fujifinepix s7000, macro is fab, sometimes the flash can wash out the image but you just have to play at getting it right. I like my camera anyhoo lol |

£500 will get you a nice SLR but wont leave much for any lenses so if you only want to spend £500 go for a fuji s9500 _________________ I’m Just So Misunderstood

There the D5O its said to have good out the cam pics (colour wise) and these around the 400-450 with kit lens. You might (altho maybe not depending on what your happy with) NEED a macro lens and these cost a fair wee bit. (If your going to go the SLR route)
You can still get great results with the SLR type cams.. .. I certainly did with my Dimage. Heard good things about the Coolpix ones but have no personal experience. Try the review sites sometimes these help.
A lot of the pics you like may well be post processed...so you might have to add a good photo manipulation prog too. I would anyway cos you get some great results with a wee tweak;-)) Iv just started with CS2...big learning curve LOL
Anyway.. Good luck whatever you decide... I love my new camera I got the D70s, its never out my hand
