Does any body here have any experience of working with plastic? I would like to be able to build my own plastic enclosures but I really don't have any idea where to start. A lot of the plastics companies in America are run by fellow hobbyists, so it can't be impossible to get started ( or so I hope) Can anyone suggest a good book, or even website that would help me to understand the properties of various plastics and how to work with them? I was thinking of using polypro or HDPE but there is a lot of contradictory information regarding which of these plastics are most suitable. Also, what about thermoforming, how feasible is it to do this at home ( I understand the equipment is expensive and bulky) is it easy enough to learn to do this? Does anyone here have experience working with plastic, do you have any pictures of home made plastic cages that you could post?
Thanks, AS |
