Tri-Phosphur Lighting; does anyone know anything about this type of lighting, I have been advised that it is good for Chameleon vivs, to improve natural light intensity. This is on top of uv and basking light not a replacement for said lights.

If anyone knows anything at all about such lights please tell me, if you know of a good online website to buy them even better! Thanks.

Rick

Which Chams are you going to be using it for though ? vields will want it brighter than panthers and they will need more UVB than panthers so bear that in mind aswell

Still using zoomeds tubes for UV, the idea is to get more natural light in the vivs as they prefer and respond better to this. The UV's dont give of much bright light. Esepcially the higher up the % scale u go.

So any additional light will be just that additional. Very Happy

At the moment I am reducing from tens down to fives for the uv, using standard spot bulbs for heating. Just want to increase the natural bright light .

I think tri-phosphur are just a variant flourescent tube, phosphur is what is on the inside of the glass in the tube and produces different light outputs, i think tri-phosphur is a newer type producing a brighter whiter light.
I might have this all wrong though its just im sure an office i fitted out a while back spec'd these tri -phosphur tubes.

That sounds right to me Jas, better for natural lighting nice clear bright white light and apparently they last much much longer than conventional tubes from what I have been able to find out. I think they are very high on the lumms scale or whatever the light output scale is Laughing perhaps the tri stand for three x as bright?
