OK id like your opinions.
I've got quite a few reptiles now and would like to expand my collection more, with different species and different animals (snakes, lizards, amphibians, inverts) and was wondering what you would do Viv wise.
Wooden racks all round the wall (converted Argos bookcases) they all match in colour and size etc.
Wooden racking with plastic tubs.
ix and match Viv's with different depths, different colours, different materials (glass, wood, acrylic). I thought this may look quite tacky...?
i was wondering what you would all do?

Im still in temp accomadation at uni (for another 3 years in the same room though!) so i dont have a herp room as such... its all in my bedroom!
However, ive been thinking a lot about doing a frogroom in the future and would love to try somethign a bit different. I was thinking of having the vivs on racks in an L shape which cut the room (maybe a garage with 2 doors or a room of a house) into two. All the vivs would face the inside of the L, and a sort of wall would be built around them (to make it look like the vivs are windows in a solid wall)
On the inside of the L i would put some sofas etc, make it a relaxing room for viewing everything (or an office). ON the other side of the "wall" of viv I would have it as a WORKING herp room... livefood cultures, boxes for temp accom and young, all the lighting/heating etc. Id probably have top opening vivs or at least have feeding hatches so that most day to day maintainance can be done form the back, and all viewing can be done from the front!
This is just an idea, but id like to try it sometime! _________________ Interested in amphibians? Join us at Myamphibia for friendly banter, amazing pictures and great information. Make some amphibious friends today! |
