OK, so I finally got my Yemen, thank you so much Rick for picking him up and keeping him for me!!! He's a sweetie little boo (the Yemen that is! Very Happy

). Anyway he settled in well (I think), eating well anyway! Laughing

Now, what is it about these crickets, are they stupid or what? Every insect I have ever encountered deserves some respect, like the ant and even the wasp, but these crix are sooooooooo stupid. They drown in like a tiny splash of water. They starve in the viv, even though there is food within easy reach. They have very little survival instincts, except to head for the dark and the light??? I HATE them and enjoy watching them being crunched to death! Surely they must have SOME redeeming factor?????

By the way, can they be fed dried grass as well as the wheat bran etc. recipe, I have loads of it. Just wondered???

lol.......yep crickets aren't too bright....very annoying when you feed your animals and find most of the crickets have decided to hide from danger in the water bowl and then drown.

Have you noticed how we never see any blonde crickets? They simply have NO chance of survival. Laughing

They are a tad thick, never managed yet to engage them in any decent past time.

You could try the deep tub method, place crix in and wait till Sidney gets used to feeding that way, he has a Long tongue so will get to them ok, just don't use see through tubs as some chams will attack the crix from the wrong side and hurt their poor tongues!

You could always wedge the tub high up in a branch, but I found with mine when they got hungry they came down anyway to feed took a little while for them to adapt to this but it will work if you preserve! If using aplastic tub u could allways make a small hole in the side of it and use cable ties or freezer bag ties to attach it to a branch?
