Are plastic and fibreglass vivariums worth the money, or should I stick to glass vivariums or even some other type? |

if you find one that suits your needs then I'd say yes.
Unfortunately I have yet to see one that fits my needs (design rather than function). Until then i am happy to use contiboard even if it needs replacing every few years. _________________

Wooden vivariums are probably best for desert species, as although some plastic and fibreglass vivariums have two shells which works on the same principal as double glazing.
Scott, do you keep your monitors in contiboard vivs?
I cheap source of fibreglass vivariums is http://www.welshreptilebreeders.co.uk/Fibreglass.htm |

I was just going to put a post up about this...spooky. My Dad keeps Borneo Bloods. His female is getting quite big now and he wants a viv for her (she's in a 84l really useful box now). Due to their high humidity, wooden vivs aren't really suitable. Can anyone recommend a fibreglass viv or similar (or a product in which he could make his own) which is large enough for an adult Blood?
Sorry if I've hijacked your thread Jim...I can post a separate one if you'd rather... _________________ Best wishes, Jackie

I agree with Hogboy. Herpteks are great bits of kit, they are more expensive than other cheaper fibreglass vivariums on the UK market but IMO the quality shows why that is.
Although Pete wouldnt want me to say this may i suggest that you DO NOT ask you're local petshop to get you one from Eurorep. You would be better off either buying from them directly via there website OR ring Peak Auatics in Buxton on 012 98 24 438 and enquire there. The reason for this is that other than Eurorep, Peak Aquatics are the ONLY other retailer to get these straight from the manufacturer _________________ TFA

Hi Jim,
Unfortunaetly David Davies has stopped that line of vivariums and is looking to start another one with a different company. Not sure what the prices or quality will be like on these though..... |
