I am going to start making some false rock backgrounds soon, using the polystyrene and tile grout method, and was wondering if anybody has used these?

I know they're not expensive but was just wondering because they're cheap, do they work? so anyone used one - opinions?

It came yesterday but it runs on a 4.5v battery - and they're really hard to find, in a normal shop that is.

I don't really want to order one online as I'm impatient and want to get started asap lol Laughing

Hopefully find one somewhere tomorrow.

for me its the cement etc that gives you the best rock effect the poly really being a basis to build upon this but I do think a hand file will give you best results for rough edges however a hot cutter is still usefull for joints etc

I shall have a good play at getting it right - I hope lol

I opted for the cutter because I REALLY can't stand polystyrene, so this will be a test on my nerves, if i get a prezzie wrapped in the stuff I get hubby to take it out for me!! Embarassed

A bit annoyed about the battery though, the one recommended for the product was discontinued a few years back, well that's eBay for you. I've had a converted thing made up to take 3 AA batteries instead.
