We went to our first insect show today and enjoyed it. It wasnt as packed as the reptile shows, but things were selling out quickly.
We came away with some bright gren fruit beetles, a mantid, a couple of different types of stick insects and leaf insects, plus a selection of butterflies for Beth our daughter.
Heres the Green fruit beetles - Smaragdeaheb africana africana, we bought these for our daughter.

Our tiny Mantid - we cant remember what sort it is ( anyone know?)

These little Stick insects were given to us by the PSG ( phasmid study group) for free - thankyou very much. They are Parapachymorphie zomproi from Thialand.

McCleys Spectre - Extatasoma Tiaratum

Javan Leaf Insects - Phyllium bioculatum

You can see how tiny they are as one is on my 5 year old daughters hands

The mantid either looks like Sphodromantis sp. probably S. viridis or Heirodula sp. either grandis or membranacea - unsure cos they look very similar.
