when my beardies are basking they sometimes have their mouths wide open, is this normal Question

they open thier mouth during basking to cool body temprature its very normal what is the temprature near the basking lamp?

thanks for the reply i keep it at between 30 and 35 degrees C, its only now and again when they do i've just started noticing there doing it as they get bigger!

i may be wrong but i was told that the hottest end of a beardie viv should be between 80 and 90 degrees. going on the basis that the basking lamp and heat mat are at the same end

thats what 30-35 is when its converted i'm new to keeping them so i just go off scotts care sheet, and any replys i get off here. Smile

my big beardies doing fine he is banging on the viv with his chin as i type (he wants to come out ) but my little one is well just hanging in there but still quite active thanks for asking Very Happy

yea hes got metabolic bone disease (very common )so ive been told plus hes being dominated by the larger male so a very hard time for him
