can a powersun be used as a permanent uv scource and how far should it be away from the animal. in the moment i use a reptisun 7.0 tube but i think a powersun would be better and also heat the viv. at first i thought 100 watt would overheat it but i know now thats not the case _________________ ULI |

I use powersuns as both heat and UV light source for certain animals, Fiji Iguanas, Yemen Chameleons, Pilbara Rock monitors, Kimberly Rocks, Uro's. If you can be sure that the cage can't over heat, then I think you'll be fine. All the cages I use are mesh topped or totally mesh except the fiji cages with a 6ftx3ftx3ft (plenty big enough to stop over heating).
In most of the cages the animals can get to within a few inches of the light, and have the choice of basking right under it or many inches away...they choose. _________________
