|
|
Any views please. Rep shed, should I go for windows in it or not? I am not sure! I am also tempted to have a section that when a viv is placed by it it will allow protected access to the outside of the shed, thus allowing natural sun worship! I could knock up an insulated internal divide for the winter for this.
Another idea was, if the shed is deep enough to have a couple of planted up areas again that are protected to allow for some free roaming, just an idea. I think this would be nice for the welfare of the reps. Would then need to get some decent overhead lighting for plant growth.
Problem is I am getting confused now as I keep pondering on all the potential variables. Possibly in danger of being a bit grandiose with my thinking. At this rate I will end up living in it myself! A C/B free roaming Ricky ekkkkkkkk! Just don't let me bred! (Angelina excluded).
Any ideas please feel free to post. Especially any
thing that has worked well for you. Thanks.

Windows in a shed that get full sun are probably a bit dangerous, the temp can rise very quickly, one of my sheds with NO windows and insulated with 50mm polystrene reached over 95f last summer, that's with NO internal heat sources, purely from the sun hitting the roof and one side wall....needless to say I shot out and bought an air con unit that day!
As for plants and free roaming....great...just watch out that whatever you hvae doesn't run out each time you enter the shed _________________

Good thinking bat man! I am going to site it in a semi shaded part of the garden that only gets the early morning sun and is in shade from about noon onwards.
I SHALL ENTER VIA THE ROOF! Save tripping over the crocodiles as I enter!
Thanks

My shed has two windows, one is a normal size which is covered up from the inside by boarding and a small 12in X 20in high up which is covered by a fine metal mesh and is left open for most of the summer, EXCEPT when it gets hot and then the aircon is turned on.

Hah...light weight
My highest recorded temp was 109F
Therefor aircon bought the same day with a great shock to the wallet _________________ People laugh at me because I am different
