Might be of some help to someone.
Homebase; have some nice bushy ficus in at the moment, from £2.99 quite reasonable sizes. A few varieites, one called kinky Ficus! nice varigated leaves @£3.99 a pop. Nice bushy weeping figs down from £5.99 to £2.99!
Can I find Pothos, Devils Ivy anywhere, NO. If anyone knows an online site for Pothos please let me know ta.

Rick
I don't think I've ever been to a DIY store/garden centre and NOT seen pothos for sale!
Mind you I don't think it will be labelled as Pothos. This is an American name, and the one used by herp enthusiasts for a plant called Epipremnum aurea.
Cheers,
Mark. |

Thanks Mark, but I've only seen the really expensive ones on moss poles about £25 quid each, I'm not paying that. Squeak, squeak, I just want smaller plants that I can grow on. I even asked at a proper garden centre and the owner hadn't heard of Pothos, so I asked for Devils Ivy, he had'nt heard of it under that name. In the end he found it in his book under SCINDAPSUS, and then he said oh yes that's quite common, we have'nt got any! Perhaps I live in the wrong part of the UK!

Wee bit of research done now. SCINDAPSUS (POTHOS) is the generic name for approx five varieites of POTHOS.
Scindapsus Aureus = Epipremnum Aureum = Devil's Ivy in turn also known as Golden Pothos.
So Scindapsus is the generic Latin, for POTHOS in turn varities then go under S.Aureus, x3 types, and S. Pictus Argyraeus (Silver Vine) x1.
Info from The HOUSE PLANT EXPERT - Dr. D.G. Hessayon.
So now when I go and ask for it I can confuse them in more ways than one! _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

They now have some nice creeping ficus in, Ficus Pumila x2 varities, ideal for ground cover or you can get them to climb, nice for vivs! AND they have small pothos in @ .99 a pop at long last!
