I got my ackie on Friday and here it is.(It was 6inches)I noticed when I got it home it's starting to shed.I have been taking it out and spraying it with warm water and I've put some damp kitchen towel in a tuppa-ware tub to make a damp hide. The humidity in the tank is about 60/70% at the minute. Is there anything else I should be doing and how long should it take them to shed all there skin off and do they usually sleep all day?

What a lovely little thing, looks just like mine (only smaller Wink )

Not had mine long myself (2 months), but I'll try to help.

It seems to take approx 3 days to shed, Ive found Spagnan (sp) moss in an approprate tupper-ware works well as a humid hide left in the hot end.

When I first got mine he used to sleep all day too, but after a week he was always out doing things. I think the reason he slept was he was on his own for the first time in his life and was unsure of suroundings.

Give him time.

be carefull not to give too much humidity, so long as you have a high humidity hide and a water bowl I wouldn't worry about spraying him.

Nice ackie too.

The little guy has shed everything of apart from about half his tail.I just give him a soak in warm water and hes running about scraping his tail around the tank trying to get it off.Is there anything else I can do to help him or can it take a while for him to shed? When I got him on Friday he was just starting to shed.

I would just let him deal with it, you only need to worry about unshed skin constricting parts of the body, normally toes...this could lead to toes dropping off due to stopping blood flow...anywhere else and the lizard will be fine with small pieces of unshed skin.
