I feel really bad for you, so sorry about it. Your original post made me think IBD. The Vet will tell you far more than we can obviously but if it is IBD the previous owner should be told. If they have other Pythons or Boas they well might also have caught it and should not be sold. A reputable person, on being given written proof from the Vet, should sort things out honourably. I say SHOULD...

Im so so so gutted its so hard watching him, it looks like he took a seizure earlier on he was flapping around mad and let loads of fluid go through him.

Im so worried that the other one may have caught it also as I only moved him out today but the healthy one atm was my favourite he was such a strong feeder and had a brilliant personality.

I only hope moving him into a different RUB and moving him upstairs may help.
I just hope this one doesnt lie in pain for so long but something in the back of me wont let me put him in the freezer because I feel he can pull through but its gettin so much worse and fast. Hes lost so much weight so quickly now aswell and hasnt moved in 2 hours until I moved him to the hot end to try and heat him up, Im pretty much trying to thermoregulate him myself but I wont be able to keep him living much longer I dont think.

Just hope if he goes I can find myself another few Royals to start over again as Ive fallen in love with them Sad

Sorry to hear he's in that state and I agree it doesn't sound good. Sad

Exposure to high temps would deff do it but you seem to have ruled that out - unless they got caught in sunlight from a nearby window? Long shot I know.

I didn't know we had IBD over here so that's a new nightmare to add to the list. Shocked

I seem to remember reading that protozoa could cause neurological symptoms in the later stages. Were they CF or CB?

If the worst come to the worst remember to keep the remains in the fridge only if you plan on getting a necropsy done to make sure the other one doesn't need any treatment.

Keep us posted and I hope you manage to get in touch with the supplier.

dont whatever you do put him in the freezer. it was thought this was a humane way to euthanise them. its now known its not humane at all.

Just letting you guys know that the little one died this morning before I could take to the vet Sad

I woulda taken them either way but the woman on the phone from the vet was wanting £60 as they dont specialise in reps for an appointment then said I would probably be referred to Cumbernauld to their specialist which is another high cost above travelling. I have spoken to a rep vet and sent them a video of what he was doing and confirmed my temps, humidity etc and they have said it was most likely IBD and that it looks like I may have a chance that I moved the other one away quick enough to have caught it.

I just pray I've moved him quick enough. I dont know what to do with the dead one, still in her RUB its so hard even going near her Sad

im sorry to hear this josh. take her out and bury her in the corner of the garden, or if you want a pm done to be sure, put her in the fridge in a bag or box. fridge mind, not freezer. if it were me, i would have her pmed, just to put your mind at rest about the other one.

take her into the vets and explain whats happened and say you want this done. i had a pm done on a wee corn who died. he was sent to london for a full pm, it cost me £45 odds. that was with romaine in dunfermline. cumbernauld will be nearer for you though. or maybe one in glasgow.

and remember keep her in fridge and get her there as soon as you can.
