hi just built my self a rack and put sum heat strips to cover 1/3 of the tubs but for the life of me cant get up to temp any suggestions

how many on the rack, and does each one have its own stat? i use 2 3ft strips on each of my 6ft long shelves, they work perfectly.
is it strips or cable?

I always put thin polystyrene under my mats, (get a roll from B&Q) currently I use 18 x 11 ich mats to heat Ikea komplement boxes. With the poly pushing the heat up and insulating it from going down it amkes a big difference.

or tin foil, cooking stuff will do the job too.

have you tried using the mats without a stat just to see if they will exceed the temps you are planning for (with no snakes in them Laughing )

I do the same as mike, as found mine was struggling with the temps. I also find it helps keep the temps more even aong the mat
