Well, it was feeding time today. And I have had my first ever snake bite...
Entirely my fault, he is back in a sweater box until the new vivs are built, and when he lived in it originally i would drop his mouse in and he'd strike it and munch away (this was months ago mind).
But i changed how i fed as he was looking for food every time i went in to him, so for the last 6-8months i have been handling him then feeding outside of his viv.
Well to day, i picked his mouse out of its bag, dropped it in some warm water to heat it up a little, went to get him out and BANG...he got me. I think i must have smelt of mouse having just handled it too.
I took pictures couldn't resist. I will post them when i get a minute.
He let go immediately, and went on to happily much down the proper food minutes later.
Any one else been in the firing line? _________________ Anna

As soon as it had happened, i thought "you asked for that"!
I wouldn't like to be in the firing line of a boa or something bigger though!
He's not 3ft yet but he's left his mark! _________________ Anna

Ooooooh yes Please excuse me mentioning it but do you have him onto rats yet ? Better for him and cheaper too than the two or three mice that would soon be needed each meal. |

No i don't, im thinking of trying him soon, as the largest mice at my rep shop aren't looking so large anymore!
I tried him on a rat pink when he got too big for mice pinks and he flat refused, so i hope he's forgotten about not liking rats! _________________ Anna
