Saw this article in the London Metro this morning, seems a bit suspect to me ... And i wish they wouldnt keep calling it a lizard!

http://www.metro.co.uk/news/article.html?in_article_id=187723&in_page_id=34#StartComments

wouldnt be surprised if they went to the garden found the "lizard" put it on the banana, took a pic .. and there u go ... News!

Not a great image but I'd say it was a young Smooth Newt and very much from this country!!!

Yep - its a juvenile smooth newt.

Compare with the pic (of a juvenile smooth) below.

Just think - tomorrow this guy could be giving evidence in a court case as an expert witness. Doesn't bear thinking about.

Mark.

yeah who said that lol. The truth they speak of though.
It's NOT a lizard...it's NOT even a reptile!
Come on guys, how difficult is it to tell an amphibian from a reptile!
Oh...hold on a minute...The RSPCA were involved.....lol...no wonder they didn't have a clue what it was...lol...wasn't so long ago they drowned a tortoise because they thought it was an aquatic terrapin.
