hi,
i`am new and sorry to rush straight in with a problem but i have a small grey banded king that has eaten 5 times since i have had him and that was with me (i know it was the last resort) force feeding him.
he has no intrest in pinkies even with lizard maker on it .
i have try every thing includeing straveing him and waitng till he gets hungry enough.
he has not eaten for bout 4 months but i think that s partly due to him vremateing so carn`t spell.
any ideas would be handy as i don`t want to force feed him all the time cos i do belive its wrong but i didn`t have much choice.
he dose have half way down his back 3 kinks which he is not bothered about in the slightess.
he is a lively ,fast and some times funny little snake and all my mate are surprized how well he is.
so any ideas would be great thank you.

Hey, have you tried moving the pinkie while its with it? Could try warming the pinkie up a bit, or perhaps try 'braining' it if you havn't tried it, not the most pleasant but if it works... I seem to remember a soup idea from a while ago, I'll see if I can dig it up, sorry I can't be of much help
Good luck
EDIT:
check out http://www.reptilelover.co.uk/feedinghatchlings.htm
That is a corn page but hopefully the principles are the same
Also, try scenting the pinkie with a slug or chicken soup, apparantly that works well |

hi,
thanks for the quick reply.
i have every thing u said to try but to no avail.
all but the chicken soup thing.
i would be greatful if u could hunt that thing out for me.
i don`t understand it the breeder said he was eatin pinkies fine
i have not had a snake yet in 5 years of keeping them that didn`t eat without me haveing to froce him.
he dose bite the pinkie when i try to force feed him whi ch took as a good sign. but he dosn`t seem to want to swollow.
so still under sure wot else to do none of the vet round my area don`t know much bout snake which is very anoying.

Wel as for the chicken soup method, dip the head of the mouse in warmed chicken soup before offering it. Just see how that goes.
Also, as for braining, try and use a freshly killed pinkie as that should be more appealing to your snake |
