petty much the same as you guys.

I use newspaper , fed last or on different day tong and tub getts washed with anitbacterial spay and if i can put in the dishwasher as well if they fit Smile

only handle last or on different day, dont test the poo , but would if it started to look funny.

Most impontant for me when a buy a snake, i have a look at how they are keeping they animals first and if i didnt like what they are doing i would buy from them and risk my others. Wink

The spare bedroom is my QT room.

EVERY new animal comes in and goes straight in there for 6months except CF's/Boas which are in another place due to higher parasite risk and IBD.

In those 6months, any animal which should get ill for any reason has 6months added on from date of cure.

Cleaning:

F10 antibacterial soap is applied to hands and arms before cleaning starts.

F10 hand sanitiser is used in between all snakes.

All tubs are cleaned with trigene/vetasept/ark-klens and wiped dry.

F10 wipes are used on surfaces after cleaning.

Corns are done first, followed by jungles, royals then boas.

QT animals are done on a separate day.

Food is fed to specific animals and binned if not used but i never get out enough so wastage is minimal.

All new animals are wiped down with 50% dillte frontline too and all rooms/enclosures are sprayed with provent-a-mite every 3-6months

Also have an F10 bomb waiting to be detonated.

Rachel

Wooohooooo Lynne that's 4 of us Very Happy What should we use as a prise? I'm not parting with my Tia Maria!!

Sounds fine to me Paul, the main thing is the seperate rooms Very Happy Glad you could join us Rad Very Happy The only other thing I do that is kind of QT is now that I have the leo and fat tail hatchlings and they are in the same room as my royals and adult geckos, the hatchlings get sorted out first, then the adults, I will do the same with the royals as well when the babies arrive, and I alternate my days I do geckos one day and royals the next, unless anyone obviously needs cleaning etc, the quarantine bunch however are always done last. It's a bit odd at the moment with the QT Crew as they are my snakes I've had since last year, but as they have been away a courting they have gone back into quarantine for 3 months as they have been in another location which I know is clean and healthy I just don't like to take the chance. I would do the same if someone elses snakes came here, so if they were coming to court they would have to arrive 3 months ahead of schedule Wink It also gets more fun when I have animals from different locations as I'd prefer to isolate them from the others in the QT room, but there are only so many places you can put racks and tubs etc, although I was eyeing up a nice space in the bathroom the other day and pondering to myself Laughing I envisage my dining room ending up looking something like the house in ET when the CDC came in a took over and covered the whole thing in plastic sheeting Laughing

Laughing Not my fault Rachel sneaked in whilst I was typing Laughing

I've seen the F10 bomb Rachel and thought it a wonderful idea, the only info I don't have on it is can you leave the animals in the room when you detonate, I'm assuming not, but as you can use it to nebulise and it's been used to treat chickens as is I believe I was wondering, it's a fantastic idea which ever way you use it, I might set one off in my teenagers room Laughing Can I also be cheeky Rachel and ask where you get your F10 supplies from, I need rather a lot of it now Laughing

From these guys http://www.meadowsanimalhealthcare.co.uk/shopframesf10.html

I wasn't sure so i e-mailed them and was told you should be able too but they didn't want to guarantee it and looking at the alcohol levels i wouldn't chance it so haven't used it yet for wondering where to put all said snakes lol.

Didn't say but i'd use it like i do provent-a-mite keep everything out till no fumes are existant.

My plan is, tape up all windows round edges and cut strips to fit door, set bomb off run out of room and tape off door too so room is TOTALLY SEALED so the disinfectant can't get out so won't waste and will kill EVERYTHING in there.
