I finally managed to get the pics on my screen and wow they're very, very good viper shots!
Si86- as far as I can tell the snakes are as follows-
Pic 1- Atheris squamigera- Variable bush Viper
Pic 2 and 3- Agkistrodon billineatus- Cantil
Pic 4- Cerastes cerastes- Desert-Horned Viper
Pic 5 and 6- Bothriechis aurifer- Yellow blotched palm pit viper
Pic 7- Bitis atropos- Bergs Adder
I had to refer to my books for the last 2 but I'm fairly certain their correct.
Feel free to correct me anyone if I am wrong _________________ You can't trust the snake......but you can always trust the snake to be a snake. |

For interests sake its Berg Adder, without the 's'. It refers to its habitat. Berg means Mountain in afrikaans _________________ ngiyakuthanda Sonvanger |

THOMAS-I found these pics on another website.
You can tell the difference between the two species by the slightly elongated scales
on the Hairy bush Viper which also curl up at the end whereas on the Variable they are flat.
Atheris squamigera- Variable Bush Viper
Atheris hispida- Hairy Bush Viper (photos used with permission)
I think the Atheris genus have some of the most stunning
snakes offered in the exotic pet trade.
Hopefully I can add them to my collection one day _________________ You can't trust the snake......but you can always trust the snake to be a snake. |

Ummm, I'm having trouble with the pictures too, but the last one looks a lot like Bitis parviocula to me. Is this right?
