Ive fallen in love with this little gecko and I was told they look really stunning when fully grown and wanna know of theres anyone out there that has one. This little baby just fell asleep in my hands after a while of sitting with it. OMG unbelievebly cute

What does Leucistic mean?

im not clued up on the whole morph thing all i know is that its a very pretty gecko

Leucism is a condition characterized by reduced pigmentation in animals. Unlike albinism, it is caused by a reduction in all types of skin pigment, not just melanin.

Due to the lack of melanin production in both the retinal pigmented epithelium (RPE) and iris, albinos typically have red eyes due to the underlying blood vessels showing through. In contrast, leucistic animals have normally coloured eyes. This is because the melanocytes of the RPE are not derived from the neural crest, instead an outpouching of the neural tube generates the optic cup which, in turn, forms the retina. As these cells are from an independent developmental origin, they are typically unaffected by the genetic cause of leucism.

Basically Leucistic animals have no pigment at all except in their eyes, this is why alot of leucistic animals have black or blue eyes.

Albino animals just lack black, all over their body including in their eyes

Have to say that UrbanGecko have some real stunners, I'm sorely tempted to invest a few £££ and get some of their geckos Very Happy
