Hi all,
May i ask your opinions on getting my 2 horsfields insured?
After much reading, i note that it can be pretty pricy if a tortoise becomes ill and needs vet treatment.
Do any of you have tortoise insurance? If yes, where from? Also, how much does it cost per month?

Exotic Direct (do a google search for contact details) will cover you. I personally don't insure any of my animals for vet bills. Most of what I keep, if kept correctly, shouldn't get ill. Those that could would normally be from breeding implications which most insurances won't cover you for.
Horsefields I would say are pretty tough hardy creatures if set up right, therefore the chances of a vet visit is small, however if you might not be able to afford a £300 plus bill if something does go wrong, then perhaps insurance would give you peace of mind.
What ever you decide, read the small print and get confirmation that the most common tortoise ailments ARE covered. _________________
