thats amazing. i would be a gibbering wreck though waiting for it to emerge! do they not moult again once they have wings, or do they keep growing and moulting. sorry am a complete newbie with these!!!

Once a mantis has wings its adult and cant grow any more, some mantids are brachypterus meaning the adults (mostly the females) have reduced or vestigle wings that are almost not there or dont reach the end of the abdomen and any where in between.
Males tend to have wings in brachypterus species and fly well (needed when homing in on a females pheromones) but not allways Smile
