Hi everyone,
Im looking to move into breeding ball pythons (looking to aquire them around june/july next year to get them settled in for the following breeding season) and just wondered what peoples thoughts and choices were on the first investments. What do you think of the CaptiveBred packages?
Thanks

Probably best to get the ones that you like the looks of mate as this will help you stay in the hobby..
The captivebred packages are excellent and a very nice way to start up for sure _________________ Paul

as mentioned before its best to get something you like or something that can make that you like, but as you say some of the nice ones i.m.o are the more expensive ones but a good base to start with that arn't that expensive is a nice pastel or even a female normal that you can grow on as you can never have enough females. |

Depending on your budget you can't go wrong with morphs such as albinos, pastels, spiders etc as they are popular and will always sell. A co-dom male such as a pastel or spider put to several normal females is a good way to get started if you have a low budget. On the other end of the scale you could invest in a higher end male such as a bumblebee or a pewter pastel and put them to several normals to get higher end morph hatchlings. At the end of the day, get the morphs that you like the look of and buy the best quality snakes you can afford. _________________ Deano |

Can't fault the Captivebred packages (I have seveeral) quality of the animals is fantastic, and Scott is fantastic to deal with and very reliable and accomodating. Just remember that is you are looking at morphs for june/july 09 next year to breed the following season oct 09-march 10 you are going to need females in the region of 1500g and males around 800g, and finding adult royals at that time of the year can be a little difficult as everyone else is getting geared up for the coming breeding season
Best of luck, and as said, start with what you really like _________________ www.draco2.co.uk
